HEALTH PROMOTION / DISEASE MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS MODULE
Wellness programs which incorporate a variety of health promotion and disease management initiatives have been demonstrated to reduce health care costs and improve productivity. Health promotion practices are intended to prevent disease or to move participants from a higher to lower level of risk. Disease management practices are intended to help individuals manage diagnosed and treatable chronic health conditions. There are literally hundreds of options from which to choose. How can you know if your initiatives are having the intended impact, i.e., improve health and lower costs?
The Health Promotion and Disease Management Analysis (HPDMA) module allows an organization to determine the impact of single or multiple initiatives intended to decrease healthcare costs and improve productivity when used in conjunction with other Health@Work modules such as the AMT and ICDA. HPDMA is based upon employee participation and compliance with sponsored initiatives. Participation in a health program is an important step in minimizing the impact of chronic health conditions. HPDMA tracks employee sign-up and periodic participation throughout the program. Unfortunately, employees may participate in offered programs, but may not be compliant with the program's requirements. HPMDA provides for 3-levels of compliance. Compliance requirements are determined separately for each program. Requirements may include options such as compliance with biometric screenings, compliance with specific activities such as a fitness, etc.
